This policy explains what data the Better Money app processes and what it does not. Please read it before using the app.

Short version

Better Money is a bookkeeping app that runs on your device. Transactions, wallet balances, and debt records are stored in your phone's internal storage, not on our servers. We do not sell user data to anyone.

Data you enter yourself

You create the following inside the app and it stays on your device:

  • Income and expense records with dates, categories, amounts, and notes
  • Wallet names and balances, such as cash or bank accounts
  • Debt and receivable records, including any names you type in
  • Project and business records you create

We have no access to this data and cannot recover it for you.

Data processed automatically

To keep the app working, third-party services may process technical data that does not directly identify you:

  • Crash reports and diagnostics containing device model, operating system version, app version, and error traces
  • Aggregate usage statistics, such as how often the app is opened

This data does not contain the contents of your financial records.

Device permissions

The app asks for a permission only when you use the related feature:

  • Storage or files: to save export and backup files that you create
  • Notifications: for the recording reminders you switch on
  • Camera or gallery: only when you attach a receipt photo to a transaction

You can revoke any permission from your device settings. The related feature stops working; everything else continues as normal.

How data is used

The data you enter is used only to display your records, calculate balances, and build reports inside your own app. Technical data is used to fix errors and improve the app.

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell or rent user data. Data may be shared only in these cases:

  • With service providers that support app operations, such as app distribution and crash reporting, limited to the technical data described above
  • When required by law or by a valid request from authorities
  • Export files that you choose to send to someone else, which remain entirely under your control

Security

Financial data sits in the app's private storage area, accessible only to this app on your device. We recommend locking your device with a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint and keeping backup files somewhere safe. No storage method is completely free of risk.

Keeping and deleting data

Data remains as long as the app is installed. You can remove it at any time by deleting records inside the app, clearing the app data from device settings, or uninstalling the app. Uninstalling deletes every record on that device, and we cannot restore it.

For questions about data you have previously sent us by support email, contact us and we will delete it on request.

Children

This app is intended for general users and is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

Under Indonesian Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data and to withdraw consent to its processing. Because your financial records live on your own device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when app features change. The current version is always available on this page, together with its effective date.
